Description: Kilonova is algorithm-based artwork that was coded in the R Statistics language and produced with an Axidraw pen plotter. The algorithm created a series of nested in-spiraling lines with a linear perspective applied, which involved the distortion of x- and y-aspects depending on the height of each point along the lines.
The materials used included black paper purchased locally, Arnhem 1618, which is a high-quality, 100% rag, acid-free printmaking paper. Each line was drawn exactly twice with a #8 white Sakura Gelly Roll pen to create a sharp contrast with the black paper. Each print took a total 2-3 hours to complete. This artwork is a single-edition plotter print, hand signed in the 2 inch margin.
